Happy New Year! 2022 Review + 2023 Preview!

To all our awesome subscribers...HAPPY NEW YEAR!

When we started Felix Comic Art, our main goal was to bring attention to the incredible art being created by the best modern comic artists. To that point, the comic art market was nearly entirely driven by nostalgia and vintage art. But why should artists wait until they're retired to see their work be appreciated by collectors? And besides, ALL art starts off as modern art! So from the collector's side...why wait, as well? Great art is great art, regardless of era.

So to have the idea that modern art could go toe-to-toe with vintage art be ridiculed early...to then have the results of our thesis be written off as flukes...to now being accepted as a new reality in our hobby...I must say has been most gratifying. And that's happened because of our amazing artists and YOU, the most awesome collectors in the hobby!

THANK YOU. 2022 was another blockbuster year. We placed over 3000 pieces of art, including over 40 complete issues, into your collections. We will reach our goal of 200 complete issues sold this year.

With what our artists have lined up, we are looking to continue the trend in 2023. New and continuing titles are coming from Filipe Andrade, Matías Bergara, Ian Bertram (PRECIOUS METAL), Chris Burnham (DOOM PATROL), Nick Dragotta, Bilquis Evely, Langdon Foss, Stephen Green, Sanford Greene (BITTER ROOT 2), James Harren (ULTRAMEGA 2), Leslie Hung (SNOTGIRL), Daniel Warren Johnson, Nic Klein, Jeffrey Alan Love, Andrew MacLean, Ryan Ottley, Nick Pitarra (AX-WIELDER JON), Riley Rossmo, Geoff Shaw, Ryan Sook, Ryan Stegman (VANISH), and Marcio Takara (POISON IVY). That's a lot of pages coming from these killer talents! (Check out a sneak preview from our chat last night!)

We're also hopeful that in-progress new projects from Cliff Chiang, Aaron Conley, Nick Derington, Stuart Immonen, Chris Mooneyham, and Paul Pope will be released in 2023. Fingers crossed!

Of course, there will be stellar new illustrations and covers from Yuko Shimizu and Chris Stevens. We will also have special events for Bryan Lee O'Malley (SCOTT PILGRIM) and Steve Oliff (AKIRA). And maybe something from Tradd Moore...?

Everything continues to support our charity efforts, now centered around my own, The Lu Family Fund. I'm proud to announce that once again in 2022, the Fund was able to approve EVERY SINGLE application to our primary initiative, The Second Opinion Project. Which means we were able to help 111 patients seek exceptional care and treatment options, resulting in a chance for an improved outcome, and even cure. This is all possible due to your support. We have a major art auction fundraiser planned for 2023. Beyond that, your tax deductible contributions are aways appreciated. Thank you for this, most of all!

We look forward to continuing our engagement with you through our chats and YouTube UNBOXING / ART SHOW livestreams. We also have some cool guests lined up for our podcast, and yes, bringing back some of your past favorites. As well as new projects we'll be trying out.
